Why We Built This

Before The Vision People existed, there was Taika Translations — a language services company Jason and Margarita started in 2009, literally on a card table in their living room. No investors. No trust fund. No safety net. Just the two of them figuring it out one contract at a time.

Jason had come out of the U.S. Air Force. The military gave him discipline and a high tolerance for pressure. What it didn't give him was a blueprint for leading a growing business. He made the mistakes most first-time operators make — he was working in the business constantly, not on it. Tasks that should have taken minutes were eating hours. The back office was a fire drill.

"I was spending half my week on things a smart system should have been doing. And every hour I spent on that was an hour I wasn't spending on clients, team, or growth."

So he built the systems. AI-connected workflows that handled invoicing follow-up, scheduling, quote generation, and reporting without a human touching them every day. Taika went from $1M to $19M in contract awards. The operation got cleaner, faster, and more consistent — without adding headcount just to manage the inbox.

Jason is the CEO of both The Vision People and Taika Translations, a veteran-owned language services company he and Margarita built from scratch. He served in the U.S. Air Force before transitioning into entrepreneurship — and spent the first few years learning, the hard way, what it actually takes to lead a growing business instead of just operate one.

The AI systems Jason built to run Taika's back office are the foundation of everything TVP does for clients. He knows what it looks like when an owner is stuck managing the inbox instead of running the company, because he's been there. The frameworks TVP deploys aren't theoretical — they're tested against real operations with real stakes.

Margarita is the original spark behind Taika Translations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finno-Ugric Languages and started her career as a translator herself — a highly successful one. Her work was so consistent that clients kept asking for more languages than she could personally handle. That demand became Taika.

She's the operational heart of the company. While Jason built the leadership systems, Margarita built the client experience — the responsiveness, the standards, the trust that keeps clients returning. If you've emailed TVP, you've heard from her. She runs day-to-day client relationships with the same care she put into every translation she ever delivered.

Also a mother of eight, Margarita has a particular talent for keeping complicated things running smoothly — which turns out to be exactly what small business clients need from an AI partner. She loves travel, hosting, and building things that last.
